Your Role: Software Engineer
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with a strong PLC programming background to support the installation, troubleshooting, and optimisation of industrial machinery at customer sites in China and across Europe. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel (30-50% of the time), where you will act as a technical expert, resolving complex automation issues, upgrading control systems, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

We are looking to hire a multi-skilled Software Engineer with solid experience with industrial machinery.
Educated to HNC/Degree level
Key Skills:
- Strong background in PLC control system in both ST and ladder
- Electrical, electronics or mechatronics understanding
- Faultfinding to component level using a range of test equipment.
- Competent in Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project is a preference)
- Proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting in an industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of one or more major PLC platforms (e.g. Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, Rockwell, Schneider)
- Experience working on automated machinery, manufacturing lines, or high-tech equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control system architectures
- Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (30-50% of the time, including short notice trips if required)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure
