Solar Electrician – Overview

We are working with an established Renewable Energy contractor who have been operating since 2021 across the South, East and Midlands regions. With a strong engineering team already in place, they support domestic properties, social housing and public sector clients with modern low carbon technologies including Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and Air Source Heat Pumps.

They have partnered with one the largest energy suppliers in the UK and are now seeking a Solar Electrician to join their field operations team, carrying out Solar PV installations, inverter replacements, system upgrades and electrical works across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Warwickshire and Norfolk.

As a Solar Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of domestic Solar PV systems, including DC string wiring, AC connections, inverter setup, isolators, battery integration and ensuring all works meet BS7671 and MCS standards. You will work closely with roofers, surveyors and system designers to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality installations, with accurate reporting and clear communication throughout each project.

This is a mobile role covering the regions listed above. You will be provided with a company van, fuel card and full manufacturer training. The business operates a structured installation programme, meaning materials, kit and job packs are prepared and delivered to site in advance to support efficient weekly installs.

Solar Electrician – Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (essential)

• 18th Edition (essential)

• Solar PV qualification (essential)

• 2391 Test & Inspection (essential)

• Experience installing or maintaining Solar PV systems

• Strong understanding of DC/AC wiring, inverters and isolators

• Ability to work independently on domestic installations

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Based within one of the listed regions

Solar Electrician – Salary & Remuneration

• £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE)

• Overtime available

• Company van + fuel card

• 20 days holiday + bank holidays

• Progression into senior installation, commissioning or battery‑storage roles
