About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and resourceful Solar Project Developer to spearhead the growth of their solar energy portfolio in and around Glasgow . This dynamic role involves identifying potential sites, securing land rights, managing the early-stage development process, and navigating regulatory approvals for utility-scale and commercial solar projects. You will play a key part in advancing renewable energy solutions and contributing to Scotland's clean energy transition. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential sites for new solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
- Engage with landowners to negotiate and secure land leases and option agreements.
- Conduct preliminary site assessments, including environmental, zoning, and interconnection feasibility studies.
- Develop project proposals and secure necessary permits and regulatory approvals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, utilities, and community groups.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project development , preferably within the renewable energy sector .
- Demonstrated success in identifying, securing, and developing solar or other energy projects.
- Strong understanding of land acquisition, permitting processes, and interconnection studies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the Scottish planning and energy regulatory environment is advantageous.
