Solar Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Solar Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar energy projects in and around Cardiff . You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless project progression and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of solar PV project development, including site assessment, permitting, design, and procurement.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues as they arise to ensure successful project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in project management within the renewable energy sector, specifically solar PV.
• Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of solar technology, electrical systems, and construction best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations and planning processes.
