About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Solar Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of solar energy projects in and around Cardiff . You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless project progression and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of solar PV project development, including site assessment, permitting, design, and procurement.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues as they arise to ensure successful project completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in project management within the renewable energy sector, specifically solar PV.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of solar technology, electrical systems, and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations and planning processes.
