About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Solar PV Design Engineer to join their dedicated team in Portsmouth . This role is central to designing and engineering high-quality photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial and industrial clients. You will be responsible for creating detailed system designs, performing energy yield assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Design complete solar PV systems , including array layouts, electrical schematics, and component selection.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential solar installations.
• Perform energy yield calculations and financial modeling for proposed projects.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure designs comply with national electrical codes, building standards, and solar industry best practices.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and installation teams to ensure design integrity and successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar PV system design .
• Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
• Strong understanding of PV technology, inverters, mounting systems, and grid connection requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and electrical standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
