About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Solar PV Design Engineer to join their growing team in Bradford . This role is essential in developing innovative and efficient solar photovoltaic system designs for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for system sizing, component selection, electrical schematics, and performance analysis, ensuring designs meet client requirements and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in solar technology and a passion for sustainable energy solutions, contributing to the expansion of clean energy generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize solar PV systems , including roof-mounted, ground-mounted, and carports.
• Perform energy yield assessments and financial modeling for proposed solar installations.
• Select appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, and electrical components.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical standards, building codes, and grid connection requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, installation teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in designing solar photovoltaic systems .
• Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, AC/DC systems, and energy storage solutions.
• Knowledge of UK solar industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
