About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Solar PV Design Engineer to join their team in Norwich . This role is crucial for designing and optimizing photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. You will be responsible for creating detailed system designs, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and industry standards, and contributing to the company's growth in the renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solar PV systems, including site assessments, energy production estimates, and component selection.
• Prepare detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and structural mounting plans.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and local electrical codes, safety standards, and building regulations.
• Specify inverters, solar panels, mounting hardware, and balance of system components.
• Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide support during the installation and commissioning phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing solar PV systems.
• Proficiency with PV design software (e.g., Aurora Solar, PVsyst, Helioscope) and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles, solar energy technology, and energy storage systems.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
