Solar PV Electrician

Birchwell Associates is recruiting for an experienced Solar Electrician to join a growing renewable energy contractor delivering Solar PV and battery storage projects across Devon and the surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on position suited to a qualified electrician with strong installation, testing and fault-finding experience who is looking to build or continue a career within the renewable energy sector.

The Role

You will be responsible for electrical works across Solar PV and battery storage installations, working across a mixture of domestic and commercial projects.

Responsibilities will include:

• Installing and commissioning Solar PV systems
• Battery storage installation
• Inverter installation and connection
• AC electrical works associated with renewable energy systems
• Testing, inspection and certification
• Fault finding and remedial works
• Consumer unit and electrical upgrades where required
• Working from electrical drawings and specifications
• Ensuring installations comply with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards
• Completing work to a high standard while maintaining excellent health and safety practices
• Liaising with customers, site teams and project management

What We're Looking For

Candidates should have:

• 18th Edition
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
• Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification / apprenticeship
• Strong electrical installation experience
• Experience with Solar PV installations
• Good testing and fault-finding ability
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience with battery storage, inverters and renewable energy systems would be highly advantageous.
