About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead the support services for students with diverse learning needs at a prominent school in Cardiff . This critical role involves developing and implementing effective strategies to ensure all students receive the appropriate support to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create an inclusive environment where every child thrives academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision for students with special educational needs.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress meticulously.
• Liaise effectively with parents, external specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated support.
• Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on SEN best practices and strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policies.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant postgraduate qualification.
• National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to obtain it.
• Demonstrable experience in managing SEN provision within a school setting.
• Strong understanding of current legislation and best practices in special education.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
