About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant to work within a school setting in Brighton . You will provide tailored support to children with diverse learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in their educational environment. This role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist pupils with their learning, following tailored education plans and strategies.
- Help pupils with personal care needs as required, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Support pupils' social and emotional development, fostering positive relationships and behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to monitor pupil progress and implement support strategies.
- Adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
- Understanding of different types of special educational needs and learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are advantageous.
