About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Specialist Cleaning Operative to manage the cleaning and maintenance of high-rise buildings in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role requires expertise in window cleaning at height, facade maintenance, and general upkeep of external building structures, ensuring a pristine appearance and safe environment for occupants and visitors. You will operate specialized equipment, adhering to rigorous safety standards for working at elevation. This is a challenging yet rewarding position for an individual who is comfortable with heights, possesses excellent technical skills, and is committed to delivering high-quality results in demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform safe and effective external window cleaning for high-rise buildings using ropes, abseiling techniques, or powered access platforms.
• Conduct facade cleaning and maintenance, including pressure washing and masonry cleaning, to preserve building integrity and appearance.
• Manage and operate specialized cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations pertaining to working at height, including risk assessments and the use of safety harnesses.
• Report any structural issues, damages, or maintenance needs observed on building exteriors.
• Coordinate cleaning schedules with building management and other contractors to minimize disruption.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a high-rise window cleaner or facade specialist.
• Certification in working at height (e.g., IRATA, SPRAT, or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, water-fed poles, and abseiling gear.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation related to working at height and in the construction/maintenance industry.
• Excellent physical fitness and comfort working in exposed, elevated environments.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
