About the Role

Our client is searching for a talented and inspiring Specialist Music Teacher to join their esteemed school in Reading . This role encompasses teaching music across the secondary age range, nurturing students' musical talents, and developing their appreciation for diverse musical genres and practices. You will be responsible for curriculum delivery, ensemble direction, and potentially supporting extracurricular musical activities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for music education and the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities, contributing to a vibrant arts programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality music education to students from Year 7 to Year 13, covering theory, performance, and appreciation.
• Plan and execute engaging lessons, practical activities, and performance opportunities.
• Lead and direct school ensembles such as choirs, orchestras, or bands.
• Assess student progress in music, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Manage and maintain music resources, instruments, and facilities effectively.
• Foster a love for music and encourage participation in school musical events and productions.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Music.
• A strong background in music performance and theory.
• Experience teaching music at the secondary level, including Key Stage 5.
• Excellent instrumental skills and the ability to teach multiple instruments are desirable.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Passion for music and a commitment to fostering student creativity and development.
