Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) – Esteem North Academy
Location: Esteem North Academy
Salary: £95–£110 per day
Contract: Agency initially, with the opportunity to go permanent after 12 weeks
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant (STLA) to join the team at Esteem North Academy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their career in education. The role will initially be offered through an agency, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff after 12 weeks, subject to performance and suitability.
The Role
As an STLA, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to support pupils with their learning, development and individual needs. You will help create a positive, supportive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can make progress.

- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care or support setting
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- The confidence to work effectively as part of a wider team
- Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
