Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services (ADRS) are recruiting an enthusiastic psychiatrist to the post of Speciality Doctor. This post is initially fixed‑term (12 months) and part‑time (0.7wte / 7 Programmed Activities).

We are seeking an enthusiastic Speciality Doctor with psychiatry experience to join our clinical team. The post is currently based in Back Sneddon Street, Paisley and relates to the Renfrewshire HSCP catchment area. You would be to provide psychiatry expertise to an established multi‑disciplinary team with consultant support. You would, in due course, participate in all aspects of addiction treatment and care, including multidisciplinary meetings. The service primarily receives referrals for opiate and alcohol dependency, and has a caseload with a high prevalence of co‑morbidity (mental health).

The service will consider applications looking for fewer sessions (minimum 0.5 wte).

All applicants must have full GMC registration, a licence to practise, and at least 4 years full‑time (or equivalent of less than full‑time) postgraduate training, two of which must have been within a speciality training programme or demonstrate and evidence of equivalent training, experience and competencies. Previous experience of working in alcohol and drug recovery services is not essential. Any offer of appointment is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory references and report from Occupational Health Service.

SPECIALTY DOCTOR Must Meet The Following Criteria

• shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC); and
• shall have completed at least four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full‑time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT); or
• shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
