Sports Coach

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated and energetic Sports Coach to join their team in Birmingham . You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective training programs for various age groups and skill levels, fostering a love for sport and promoting fair play. This role is crucial in nurturing young talent and ensuring a positive sporting experience for all participants. We are looking for an individual who is not only skilled in sports instruction but also passionate about youth development and creating an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere. The position involves significant on-site engagement, working directly with athletes and community groups within the Birmingham area, making it an essential community-facing role.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering structured sports training sessions tailored to specific age groups and athletic abilities.
• Organizing and supervising inter-club matches, tournaments, and sports events.
• Providing constructive feedback and technical guidance to improve athletes' skills and performance.
• Ensuring a safe and supervised environment during all training sessions and events, adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborating with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate player progress and address concerns.
• Promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among participants.

Requirements

• Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications in a specific sport (e.g., FA coaching badges, ECB coaching awards).
• Demonstrable experience in coaching sports to children and/or adults.
• Strong understanding of sports rules, strategies, and player development principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages and backgrounds.
• A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
