Job Description
Role: Activity Leader / Sports Coach
Location: Waterwells Primary Academy, 2 Boulmer Ave, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 2FX
Hours: Part-time
Pay Rate: £12-£13 per hour
Hours per week - 13-14 hours
Key Responsibilities: Delivering high-quality sports and physical activity sessions
Requirements: Ideally a DBS check, sports coaching qualifications, and a driving licence

Are you a passionate Sports Coach or PE Coach who enjoys working with children? Do you want to make a real impact in primary schools through engaging, fun, and structured physical activity?
At Progressive, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Primary School Sports Coach to deliver high-quality PE lessons, lunchtime activities, and wraparound care sessions across our partner schools.
Your Role as a Sports Coach
- Deliver engaging PE lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Lead fun and inclusive multi-sports sessions and physical activities
- Support and deliver before and after school clubs (wraparound care)
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging environment for all children
- Manage behaviour effectively in line with school expectations
- Work collaboratively with school staff and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working as a Sports Coach, PE Coach, Activity Coach, or similar
- Passion for working with children in a school setting
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Relevant coaching qualification (Level 1 or Level 2 desirable)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK driving licence preferred
