About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Sports Data Scientist to join their performance analysis team in Liverpool . This role is pivotal in leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning to unlock insights that drive player development, team strategy, and competitive advantage. You will work with vast datasets from training, match performance, and scouting, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence that informs critical decisions for coaches and management, contributing to the club's success on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze sports data.
• Extract, clean, and transform complex datasets from various sources.
• Create insightful visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with coaches, performance staff, and other departments to integrate data insights into practice.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and sports analytics techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience (4+ years) as a Data Scientist, with a strong preference for experience in the sports industry .
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and relevant data science libraries.
• Experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical modeling.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to diverse audiences in Liverpool .
