About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sports Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of their sports facilities in Plymouth . This on-site role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills to ensure the smooth running of all sports venues, from booking and scheduling to maintenance and customer service. You will be responsible for managing staff, budgets, and ensuring a high-quality experience for all users of the facilities. This is a critical position within the leisure and sports sector, ensuring that the community has access to excellent sporting amenities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of sports facilities, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of all sports grounds, pitches, and indoor venues.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Lead and motivate a team of facility staff, providing training and performance management.
- Implement strategies to maximize facility utilization and revenue generation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facility management , preferably within a sports or leisure environment.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, health and safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Experience in budget management and financial planning.
- Ability to problem-solve effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.
