Sr. Social Worker - Safeguarding & Care Planning - Middlesbrough

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding & Care Planning team in Middlesbrough. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop care plans, and provide support to families facing complex challenges. Your expertise will directly impact the lives of those we serve, ensuring they receive the appropriate interventions and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
• Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners.
• Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and support staff.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Participating in court proceedings and contributing to reports as necessary.
• Engaging with families and stakeholders to promote positive outcomes and safeguarding measures.

The ideal candidate will possess a recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include strong communication, problem-solving, and crisis intervention abilities. Experience in safeguarding and child protection, along with a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks, is crucial for success in this role. A minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in a similar setting is required.
