Job Description
Steel Erector Salary: £34,000 – £39,000 per annum Position:
Steel Erector Location:
High Wycombe, travelling to various project locations HOURS
: 08:00-17:00 Monday – Thursday & 07:00 – 16:00 Fridays We are seeking an experienced Steel Erector who can not only deliver high-quality on-site installation work but also take responsibility for managing day-to-day activities on site. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, coordinating tasks, and ensuring smooth progress across multiple stages of steel erection. Key Responsibilities ·
Erect structural steel frames, beams, columns, and associated components ·
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and site plans ·
Work collaboratively with site supervisors, crane operators, and fabrication teams ·
Install bolted connections, bracing, and secondary steelwork ·
Operate lifting equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely ·
Maintain high standards of site safety and housekeeping ·
Adapt to changing project requirements and assist with on-site problem-solving Requirements ·
Proven experience as a steel erector on commercial or industrial projects ·
Strong understanding of structural steel installation and site safety Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties ·
Ability to read and work from technical drawings ·
CSCS card required; IPAF, CPCS, or slinger/signaller qualifications advantageous ·
Comfortable working at height and in varying weather conditions ·
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team ·
Full UK driving licence ·
Own transport essential ·
Ability to weld would be advantageous What We Offer ·
