Job Description
We are working with a local authority to recruit an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to join their Housing and Property team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in assessing and improving the condition of the Council's housing stock, supporting asset management and future investment programmes.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Undertaking stock condition surveys across the Council's housing portfolio.
- Assessing the condition and remaining life of building components.
- Identifying repair, maintenance and investment requirements.
- Accurately recording and managing property condition data.
- Supporting planned maintenance and capital investment programmes.
- Identifying property condition, health and safety and compliance issues.
- Working closely with Housing, Asset Management and Repairs teams.
- Liaising professionally with residents during property visits.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience undertaking residential stock condition surveys.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, defects, repairs and maintenance.
- An understanding of social housing, asset management and the Decent Homes Standard.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong IT/data skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Experience within a local authority, housing association or social housing environment is highly desirable.
A relevant surveying or construction qualification and/or RICS membership would be advantageous.
