About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Stock Controller to manage inventory effectively at their retail location in Reading . This role is vital for ensuring accurate stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting the smooth flow of merchandise. You will be responsible for monitoring stock movements, conducting regular audits, and working closely with the sales and management teams to optimize inventory. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to managing warehouse and stockroom operations, contributing to efficient supply chain management and preventing stockouts or overstock situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock.
- Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed, working with suppliers.
- Implement and adhere to stock control procedures and policies.
- Liaise with the sales team to ensure product availability and report on stock levels.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom for efficient access and storage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar warehousing role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
- Good organizational and time management skills.
