Stock Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Stock Controller to manage inventory accuracy and efficiency for their retail store in Portsmouth . This role is essential for maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing loss, and ensuring that products are available for customers. You will be responsible for all aspects of stock management, from receiving deliveries to conducting regular audits and maintaining detailed records. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for supply chain accuracy, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the receiving, checking, and storing of all incoming stock.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the company's stock management system.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and cycle counts to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and report on stock variances, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, coordinating with purchasing teams.
• Ensure the stockroom is organized, clean, and safe for all personnel.

Requirements

• Previous experience in stock control , inventory management, or warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in using stock management software and MS Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Good understanding of stockroom procedures and health and safety regulations.
