Stock Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and efficient Stock Controller to join their retail operations team in Reading , operating on a hybrid basis. This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock flow, and ensuring the availability of products for sale. You will be responsible for conducting regular stock checks, managing incoming and outgoing stock, and identifying discrepancies to minimize loss and optimize stock levels. This is a vital position for someone with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, who thrives in a hands-on, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and accurate stock takes and cycle counts to verify inventory levels.
• Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and storage of incoming stock.
• Manage stock rotation and ensure efficient use of storage space.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between stock records and physical inventory.
• Collaborate with sales and management teams to ensure adequate stock availability and prevent stock-outs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a stock control , inventory management, or warehouse role.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for the hybrid schedule.
