About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Strategic Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team supporting operations in Reading . This role is pivotal in developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and driving significant cost savings across various spend categories. You will leverage market intelligence and data analysis to identify opportunities and mitigate risks within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial mindset and excellent negotiation skills, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the procurement function from our Reading base or a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned indirect spend categories.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and supplier assessments.
• Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal value and risk mitigation.
• Manage and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the procurement function.
• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and company procurement policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement roles.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with e-sourcing tools and P2P systems.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
