Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Strategic Sourcing Manager to join their procurement department, operating remotely from Belfast . This senior position demands a forward-thinking approach to identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers that align with the company's long-term objectives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative sourcing strategies that drive value, mitigate risk, and ensure a competitive edge in the marketplace. This role requires a proactive individual capable of building strong relationships and achieving significant cost savings through sophisticated negotiation and category management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to optimize spend and leverage supplier capabilities across key business areas.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including supplier landscape, risk assessments, and cost modelling.
• Lead complex sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations with major national and international suppliers.
• Manage and cultivate strategic relationships with key vendors, ensuring performance standards are met and exceeded.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supply chain optimization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align sourcing strategies accordingly.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing , category management, and supplier relationship management.
• Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and deliver significant cost savings and value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial analysis and contract law.
• Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working remotely.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; CIPS or equivalent certification is a plus.
