About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned and strategic Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive value and innovation from their supply base in Glasgow . This senior role involves developing and executing global sourcing strategies for key categories of spend, focusing on long-term partnerships, risk mitigation, and cost optimization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and finance, to ensure procurement strategies directly support business objectives. This is a critical leadership position for an experienced professional seeking to shape the future of procurement within a forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of category strategies to deliver significant cost savings and value.
- Identify, assess, and select suppliers based on a rigorous evaluation of capability, quality, risk, and financial stability.
- Manage key supplier relationships at a senior level, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
- Conduct market intelligence gathering and analysis to anticipate trends and opportunities.
- Negotiate complex global agreements and framework contracts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment of sourcing strategies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management , ideally within a global context.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex sourcing projects and delivering substantial cost savings.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to manage senior supplier relationships.
- Expertise in developing and implementing sourcing strategies across diverse spend categories.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with e-sourcing tools and advanced procurement analytics.
