About the Role

Our client in Edinburgh is seeking a highly experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead critical procurement initiatives. This senior role involves developing and executing long-term sourcing strategies that drive significant cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate supply chain risks. You will work with key stakeholders across the organisation to understand complex requirements and translate them into actionable sourcing plans. This position offers the opportunity to make a substantial impact on the company's bottom line and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive strategic sourcing strategies for key spend categories.
Lead complex, high-value sourcing projects from market analysis to contract execution.
Develop and manage strong relationships with critical suppliers, fostering partnerships and driving continuous improvement.
Conduct in-depth spend analysis and identify opportunities for consolidation and cost reduction.
Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance and maximizing value.
Collaborate with executive leadership and departmental heads on procurement-related matters.

Requirements

Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or a similar senior procurement role.
Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and improving supplier performance.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modelling and data analysis.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with e-sourcing tools and procurement best practices.
A relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is highly regarded.
