Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive value and efficiency in their procurement operations. This remote-first role focuses on developing and implementing sophisticated sourcing strategies for key categories of spend. You will be instrumental in identifying new supply sources, optimising supplier performance, and negotiating complex contracts to achieve significant cost savings and mitigate risks. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to influence procurement strategy on a global scale, working with a dispersed and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for both direct and indirect spend, aligning with business objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis, supplier research, and spend diagnostics to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract award processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers, focusing on performance and innovation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment on sourcing initiatives.
• Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies within the supply base.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably in a B2B environment.
• Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and value through procurement initiatives.
• Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with experience working remotely.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
