Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their procurement team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers, as well as optimizing existing supplier relationships to ensure the best value for the company. This role is crucial in driving cost savings and mitigating risks within the supply chain, supporting the company's growth and operational efficiency through effective sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities.
• Lead sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, from development through to supplier selection.
• Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and conditions.
• Develop and implement category strategies to optimize spend and enhance supply chain performance.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and best practices in all sourcing activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing , procurement, or a related supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies and negotiation techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
• Proficiency in sourcing software and relevant ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for remote collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
