About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized and meticulous Stress Analysis Engineer to contribute to critical projects from their Leeds base. This role focuses on performing advanced structural and stress analysis on mechanical components and systems, ensuring their integrity and safety under extreme loads and environmental conditions. You will work with cutting-edge simulation software to predict performance and identify potential failure points. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive stress analysis , fatigue analysis, and durability assessments using FEA software.
- Develop and validate simulation models based on design drawings, material properties, and expected operational loads.
- Interpret simulation results, identify critical stress concentrations and potential failure modes, and recommend design modifications.
- Collaborate with design engineers to implement recommended design changes and re-analyze to ensure compliance.
- Document analysis methodologies, results, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in stress analysis techniques and simulation software.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in structural mechanics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in stress and finite element analysis (FEA) .
- Proficiency with commercial FEA software packages such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN.
- Strong understanding of solid mechanics, material behavior, and failure theories.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills to convey technical findings effectively.
