Structural Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Structural Civil Engineer to join their remote team, serving projects across the UK, with a focus on opportunities originating from Belfast . This role is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of various construction projects, from initial design to completion. You will be responsible for performing complex structural analyses, designing load-bearing systems, and producing detailed technical drawings and reports. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while collaborating with a leading engineering consultancy dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable structural solutions nationwide. You will contribute to a wide range of building and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other civil engineering structures using advanced software.
• Develop and produce comprehensive structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with current building regulations, British Standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to achieve integrated design solutions.
• Review contractor submissions, respond to design queries, and provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Undertake site visits as required to verify design implementation and resolve any structural issues.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Proven track record of successful structural design projects, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro , Tekla Structural Designer , or similar.
• Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, timber, and masonry design principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration and report writing.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE) is advantageous.
