About the Role
Our client seeks a talented and detail-oriented Structural Civil Engineer to join their established practice in Cardiff , Wales. This role is integral to the design and analysis of a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams to bring complex designs to fruition. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient engineer to contribute to significant developments within Wales and gain exposure to a variety of challenging structural engineering problems, working within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure, utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for client and contractor use.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
- Collaborate with architects and other consultants to integrate structural designs effectively into overall project plans.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with current UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams throughout the design and construction phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in structural design and analysis for both new build and refurbishment projects.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar.
- Strong understanding of materials science, load-bearing principles, and geotechnical considerations .
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is preferred.
