Our client seeks a talented and driven Structural Engineer to join their well-established building design team in Sunderland . This role is integral to designing safe, efficient, and innovative structural solutions for a wide range of building projects, from commercial and residential developments to public facilities. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams to bring complex building designs to life. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyse building structures using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber materials.
- Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
- Undertake site visits to monitor progress, undertake surveys, and resolve any structural issues that arise during construction.
- Collaborate with architects and other consultants to ensure integrated and efficient building design solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with current building regulations, British Standards, and relevant health and safety legislation.
Requirements
- An accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in structural engineering , specifically within the building design sector.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Robot Structural Analysis) and AutoCAD.
- A good understanding of construction methods and materials relevant to building structures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Sunderland -based team environment with hybrid flexibility.
