About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to bolster their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is central to designing and analysing the structural integrity of a diverse range of building projects, from residential developments to commercial complexes. You will be responsible for ensuring all structures are safe, stable, and meet the highest engineering standards. Working within a collaborative environment in the heart of Tyne and Wear , you will contribute to innovative architectural designs and play a crucial role in the successful completion of challenging construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for various building types using advanced engineering software.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports for client and contractor review.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and provide technical support to resolve any structural issues.
• Collaborate with architects, construction teams, and clients to ensure design intent is met.
• Assess existing structures and recommend appropriate strengthening or refurbishment solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with current UK building regulations and relevant British Standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Minimum of 4 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering practice.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD tools.
• Thorough understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and relevant codes of practice.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in design and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
