Structural Engineer - Building Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and innovative Structural Engineer to join their vibrant architectural and engineering practice in Manchester . You will be instrumental in the structural design of a variety of building projects, from contemporary commercial developments to sensitive heritage restorations. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, creativity, and collaboration, as you work closely with architects, contractors, and clients to bring ambitious designs to life. Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze the structural integrity of buildings using a range of materials including steel, concrete, and timber.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications compliant with building regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform structural assessments and propose solutions for existing building fabric or proposed modifications.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for structural engineering aspects, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design for building projects.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Revit Structure, Tekla Structures).
• In-depth understanding of Eurocodes and UK building standards.
• Experience in both new-build and refurbishment projects is advantageous.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
