About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Structural Engineer specializing in building structures to join their respected engineering consultancy in Sheffield . This role involves the design, analysis, and oversight of structural elements for a wide range of building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant standards. You will work collaboratively with architects and other professionals in a hybrid capacity, blending office-based design with occasional site visits. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for new builds and refurbishments of various building types.
• Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, drawings, and reports using relevant software.
• Collaborate with architectural teams to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into building designs.
• Undertake site inspections to monitor the progress of structural works and ensure quality.
• Review shop drawings and respond to technical queries from site teams and contractors.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards, building regulations, and technological advancements in structural engineering.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in structural design for buildings.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla Structural Designer).
• Sound knowledge of UK building codes, Eurocodes, and relevant standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with a variety of building materials including steel, concrete, and timber.
