About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their engineering department in Nottingham . This role involves the design, analysis, and integrity assessment of offshore and onshore structures critical to the oil and gas industry. You will work on a variety of projects, ensuring that all structural designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. The position requires a solid understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and analysis software, operating within a hybrid work model that combines office-based work with opportunities for site visits or remote collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for offshore platforms, pipelines, and onshore facilities using industry-standard software.
Ensure designs meet all relevant engineering codes, standards, and client specifications.
Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
Conduct structural integrity assessments and recommend repairs or modifications as needed.
Collaborate with project teams, including other engineering disciplines and construction personnel.
Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.

Requirements

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer , with specific experience in the oil and gas sector.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SACS, ANSYS).
Strong knowledge of material properties, fabrication processes, and construction methods.
Familiarity with offshore structural design codes and standards.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail within a hybrid work setting.
