About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and analytical Structural Engineer to join their engineering team in Brighton, East Sussex . This role operates on a hybrid basis, allowing for a blend of remote design work and on-site project visits. You will be responsible for the structural design of various building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills in structural analysis and design, a strong understanding of construction materials, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and construction teams. Your contributions will be vital to the integrity and success of diverse construction projects in the Brighton area.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for new buildings and refurbishments.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent is met.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and solutions to construction teams during the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
- Proven experience as a Structural Engineer , preferably within a consultancy.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a hybrid working model.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
