About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of challenging construction and infrastructure projects across the UK, working from a location of your choice. You will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and integrity of buildings and other structures, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards, and collaborating closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams through advanced virtual communication tools, playing a key role in delivering safe and efficient structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various building types and infrastructure projects, utilizing advanced engineering software.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports in accordance with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other consultants in a remote setting to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Undertake site visits as required (though the role is primarily remote) to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
- Ensure all designs meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) status or equivalent, with at least 5 years of post-chartership experience.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Robot Structural Analysis) and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, codes of practice, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
