This role involves the design, analysis, and project management of structural aspects for a wide range of building projects, from residential developments to commercial complexes. You will work closely with architects and other consultants, providing expert structural advice and ensuring the integrity and safety of buildings. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural analysis and design for building structures using relevant software.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other project team members.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any structural issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, codes of practice, and Eurocodes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialisation.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent chartered status is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in the structural design of buildings, including steel, concrete, and timber.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis).
- Thorough understanding of UK building standards and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
