About the Role
Our client seeks a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join their established engineering consultancy based in Birmingham . This role involves contributing to a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects, from initial concept through to construction phase support. You will be responsible for the structural integrity and design of various structures, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed structural analysis and design for new build and refurbishment projects.
- Produce accurate structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that arise.
- Perform structural surveys and assessments of existing buildings and infrastructure.
- Ensure designs comply with current building regulations, Eurocodes, and other relevant standards.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering practice.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000) and CAD packages.
- Familiarity with concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design principles.
- Strong understanding of UK building codes and standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a project team and manage individual tasks efficiently.
