Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Structural Engineer to join their established engineering consultancy based in Leeds . You will be responsible for the design and analysis of structural elements for a wide range of building projects, from inception to completion. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other consultants. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, stability, and integrity of structures, contributing to significant developments across the region, within a firm that values innovation and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake structural design calculations and analysis for various building types using industry-standard software.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports for planning and construction.
• Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to structural designs.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals from contractors.
• Provide technical advice and solutions to design and construction challenges.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in structural design for building projects.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, STAAD.Pro).
• Good understanding of relevant building codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
