About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer to join their innovative team in Brighton . You will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the structural integrity of a wide range of construction projects, from residential developments to commercial buildings. This hybrid role allows for a blend of on-site presence for inspections and client meetings, alongside remote work for detailed design and analysis. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyse structural systems for new builds and refurbishment projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, provide technical support, and address any structural issues that arise.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the design and construction phases.
- Review and approve shop drawings and technical submittals related to structural elements.
- Undertake feasibility studies and provide advice on structural implications for various projects, utilizing remote communication tools for follow-ups.
Requirements
- MSc or MEng in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or CEng) status or working towards it.
- Significant experience in structural design for building structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Tekla) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations and Eurocodes.
