Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their team in Leeds , working within a hybrid model that combines office-based design and remote analysis. You will be responsible for the structural integrity and design of a wide range of building projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant building regulations and standards. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in a flexible work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural elements for new builds and refurbishments, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and resolve any structural issues that may arise.
• Undertake structural assessments and surveys for existing buildings, providing reports and recommendations.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry developments, materials, and structural engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design within the UK construction industry.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD tools.
• Thorough understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards for structural design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a hybrid working environment.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or progress towards it is highly desirable.
