About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their established consultancy in Bristol . You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of structural elements for a wide range of construction projects, ensuring safety, stability, and efficiency. This hybrid role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and effective communication with clients, architects, and construction teams. You will contribute to impactful projects across the South West, working within a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various construction projects, including buildings, bridges, and infrastructure, using advanced software.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports for structural components.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and optimized designs.
- Conduct site visits to inspect ongoing construction and verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide expert technical advice and solutions to complex structural challenges.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and UK engineering regulations .
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or CEng) or working towards it.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering design .
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of material behaviour, load calculations, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, suitable for a hybrid working model.
