About the Role
Our client requires a qualified and innovative Structural Engineer to join their dedicated design team in Milton Keynes . You will be responsible for the structural integrity of a wide range of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet all relevant safety codes and regulations. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and specification of structural systems, playing a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex construction endeavours.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and specify structural systems for various construction projects (e.g., steel, concrete, timber).
- Ensure all structural designs comply with current building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with architects and other consultants to integrate structural design into overall project plans.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor the construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Provide technical support and advice to construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional registration (e.g., MICE, MIStructE) or working towards it.
- Proven experience in structural design, including proficiency with relevant software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla).
- Comprehensive knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and relevant UK codes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, crucial for coordinating with teams in Buckinghamshire .
