Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a qualified and innovative Structural Engineer to join their dedicated design team in Milton Keynes . You will be responsible for the structural integrity of a wide range of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet all relevant safety codes and regulations. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and specification of structural systems, playing a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex construction endeavours.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and specify structural systems for various construction projects (e.g., steel, concrete, timber).
• Ensure all structural designs comply with current building regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with architects and other consultants to integrate structural design into overall project plans.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor the construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Provide technical support and advice to construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional registration (e.g., MICE, MIStructE) or working towards it.
• Proven experience in structural design, including proficiency with relevant software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla).
• Comprehensive knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and relevant UK codes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, crucial for coordinating with teams in Buckinghamshire .
