Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join their innovative design and engineering consultancy based in Cardiff . You will be instrumental in the design and analysis of structural elements for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant structural solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building types and materials, including steel, concrete, and timber.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP requirements.
• Undertake structural surveys and investigations, providing reports on existing building conditions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards and building regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in structural design within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., TEDDS, STAAD.Pro, Revit Structure).
• Thorough understanding of building codes, standards, and health & safety requirements in the UK.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
