About the Role
Our client requires a talented Structural Engineer to join their well-established consultancy in Leeds . You will be responsible for the design and analysis of structural elements for a variety of building projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. This role involves close collaboration with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver innovative and efficient structural solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer to contribute to diverse projects across the Yorkshire region and further develop their expertise in structural design.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations for various building types using industry-standard software.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports for structural systems.
- Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure design intent is met and resolve technical queries.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design drawings.
- Undertake design risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable structural solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar.
- Sound knowledge of UK building regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Experience in the design of steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE).
