This role is integral to designing and analyzing the structural integrity of a wide range of construction projects, from commercial buildings to infrastructure developments. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to deliver innovative and safe structural solutions. This hybrid position offers a balance of on-site project engagement and office-based design work, providing a comprehensive experience in the UK construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural analysis and design for various building types using industry-standard software.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports for structural elements.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure architectural and structural requirements are integrated seamlessly.
- Undertake site visits to monitor construction progress and provide technical support.
- Review subcontractor designs and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
- Stay abreast of the latest engineering standards, building regulations, and technological advancements.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering within the construction sector.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer).
- Familiarity with UK building codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
